Hoses and G's birthday
I got two new hoses (two-for-one) at HD that would reach across the street to the Gaia Grrrls Garden. After three waterings and lots of traffic, the hose is already beginning to deteriorate...so much for cheap hoses. Walking the watering cans over to the garden may be the more viable option, plus I can water more deeply and intimately that way. We've got little, green tomatoes and new additions of hot peppers and, so far, a squash that Lynn planted by seed. Another hot and muggy day! Gotta check the garden before taking up our Gaia sister, Nancy G's, invite to her pool. Happy 45th Birthday, G!

First visitors
As we are planting tomatoes, a neighbor softly introduces herself ...
and helps us with the work.
The fourth tomatoplant, second row, from the back-end is now named Sierra, after our first visitor
Later also her brother checks out the Gaia Girls Garden, and Lynn plays her charme with the mum of the kids ;)

Friends with Pools
Our first day was HOT! After a full day at my "retail on concrete" job, my "dogs" were killing me, but to see my three Gaia sisters hard at work breaking ground in the empty lot across the street inspired my to throw on some shorts and a tank top and disassociate my pain. Thank goodness Nanny G had to run errands, for she came back with great news that our dear friend, Lou, did not mind if we came over, sweaty and filthy, to jump in her pool! Nothing like cool water and a raft for sore feet!
Many donated tomato plants and peppers on the back porch steps await a new home. Gotta get 'em in Grrrls! They are already setting blossoms. I got over anxious about this fact yesterday after work and started double-digging until Lynn assured me that a guy said he'd bring his rototiller Monday. In the meantime, I've got my eye on some broken-bag, mark-down pallets of soil amendments at Home Depot.
